Amazon's Featured Fall Books for Teens List

Using clever email marketing, Amazon sent me a “Featured Fall Books for Teens List” this morning. There are some fantastic books on this list…and then there are some books that completely baffled me.

My favorite model turned author rears her head yet again…

1Inheritance (The Inheritance Cycle) by Christopher Paolini- I vote yes!! I can’t wait to read this final (hopefully) book!

2The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner Trilogy)
by James Dashner- I really need to read The Maze Runner. But this book gets two thumbs up!

3The Warlock (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel)by Michael Scott (not the one from The Office)- I’m not as interested in this book as some of the others, but it does sound interesting.

4The Maze Runner (Maze Runner Trilogy, Book 1)by James Dashner- YES, please!! I have so many to catch up on!

5Modelland by Tyra Banks- Amazon, Amazon, Amazon. WHAT? 11 out of 24 reviews gave this book 1, 2 and 3 stars. I can’t talk though- I haven’t read this book, so I should be quiet. I think I might remedy this soon…

6You Are My Only by Beth Kephart- Although this book isn’t what I normally read, it definitely sounds engaging and interesting.

7Scored by Lauren McLaughlin- Hmm, I’m intrigued. I hate the cover, but I won’t try to judge this book too harshly. :)

8The Project by Brian Falkner- Not sure if I’d read it or not- my verdict’s still out. Cool topic, though.

9The Lost Songsby Caroline B. Cooney- I really enjoy books with different points of view, and I get the feeling this novel will utilize that style really well.

10Every You, Every Meby David Leviathan- I’m sure this book will titillate many of you, but it’s just not for me. Paranoia and insomnia sort of freak me out. I’m a wimp, I know.

What books would you add to this list?I think I would add The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, which I just bought this week!!

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.

Lol, at Tyra’s book ratings. Not surprised at all. Why would anyone expect a model to have had the time to spend studying the craft of writing for years to be able to write a decent book? I certainly would not.

That’s what my husband says too- he insists it was written by a ghostwriter. I’m not so sure…I guess I’ll have to wait to read it and see!

hmm, interesting list. I little while back I saw Modelland on a shelf at Target and was a little blown away by how ridiculous it would be for her to write a book, about models. Don’t get me wrong though, I faithfully watch not only ANTM but Britians’ version as well and love it! But a book…yeah, it’s best if we just don’t go there.

While I had been super excited about the Maze Runner…I went into expecting it to be a single book, and having a cliff hanger ending kind of ruined me on the concept. Hopefully you like it though!
