How I Got the Book: Bought

“She’s a tomboy. He’s the boy next door…

Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn’t know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she’s got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she’s falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.

Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.”

Kasie West is Now an Auto-Buy Author

I’ve gushed previously about Kasie West’s fantasy books – Pivot Point and Split Second.

And with such a great experience with that two-book series, I decided to try one of her YA contemporary reads. I picked up On the Fence, which pubbed earlier this month.

Thus an obsession was born.

On the Fence is one of those books that’s impossible to put down. I dare you! It’s hilarious (I laughed out loud so many times), and it touches on some serious struggles that are relatable regardless of whether you’re a teenager or not.

I loved every single second, and I was SO UPSET when I finished this book in a day.

The romance is killer, and the self-discovery is honest and raw. West understands teens and she understands excellent writing.

Don’t mind me as a I gushhhhhhh.

Out of all my favorite things about this book, I think Charlie and her family are my favorite. Charlie has three older brothers and their interactions are just priceless. Each has such a distinct personality and their fierce love of Charlie is palpable.

One last plea for you to pick up this book right away….

I loved, loved, LOVED this book. Kasie West can do no wrong, and lucky for me, she’s got another YA contemporary book out (Distance Between Us) that I haven’t read yet. If you are in the mood for a great book (and a romance and a deep story that will touch your heart) then read On the Fence as soon as possible!
