Book Lust: The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter

Book Lust is a new weekly feature on the blog that will showcase my latest MUST HAVE book. My hope is the new read will cause general palpitations due to its all-around awesomeness!  So let’s get pumped together about these upcoming books!

The author of the The Goddess Test is only a year and a half older than I am (25)! I can’t imagine writing and publishing a book by my next birthday. Or even in, like, 10 birthdays. Aimee Carter did it, so mega kudos to her!

This story gives the ancient mythological story of Persephone a fresh twist by setting it in the present day. I’ve been waiting to read a book like this for awhile- one with a new take on magic/otherworldliness and a spicy romance!

I can’t wait to dig in to the ARC!!

What a gorgeous cover!!

Harlequin Teen Book Description:

Every girl who has taken the test has failed.

Now it’s Kate’s turn.

It’s always been just Kate and her mom–and now her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate’s going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won’t live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld–and if she accepts his bargain, he’ll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he’s crazy–until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she’ll become Henry’s future bride, and a goddess. If she fails…

You can find out more about the author here.

Also, I don’t know if you can see this on the image of the book, but the tagline is “Become Immortal or Die Trying.” YA books are the best! 🙂
