Chat With Your Favorite Authors This Summer (Like Jenny Han and Lisa McMann)

Social media has revolutionized the relationship between an author and a reader. Before authors were these monolithic figures that seemed remote and cloistered from their fans.

Now with social media, especially Twitter, authors have never felt so accessible and responsive. I love tweeting at my favorite authors and receiving a reply back. OMG THE AUTHOR KNOWS ME!!! Ok…not really, but a girl an pretend, right?

So, Simon & Schuster is doing this really cool thing with Shindig, a website that facilitates interviews and online chats using live video. They’re hosting a summer chat with the authors of some of the hottest YA books out now, like Burn for Burn, Crash and Winger.

It’s free to RSVP and attend these author events. The first one is happening TONIGHT at 7 p.m. See the other Simon & Schuster events and times below. Get ready to chat it up!!
