It’s high time for another book chat! So today, I’m asking…

Discuss: What Book Are You Telling Everyone About Lately?

Your Take

What book do you adore so much that when anyone asks for a book recommendation, you say first, “Well, have you read ______ yet?” Read that one FIRST!!

My Take

For me this year, I’ve broken it down by 3 categories: Best I’ve Read, Best Series to Start and Best Book That’s Coming Out.

For Best Book I’ve Read, I’ve been suggesting Eleanor and Park to everyone. If someone is asking for a new read, I suggest this book every time.

For Best Series to Start, I always recommend the Lunar Chronicles.

These books are becoming so popular though that I may have to have a backup series to suggest.

And, my current Best Book That’s Coming Out is HANDS DOWN….

Snow Like Ashes. I haven’t even reviewed it yet because it doesn’t come out for so long (October 14).

But seriously, all fantasy fans are going to LOVE. THIS. BOOK. SO HARD!!!

Anywho, what are your books in those three categories?

Also, everyone needs to watch this video because it’s SO TRUE:

So not helpful.

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.

I will, hands down, always recommend Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson (Gah, the FEELS!) to everyone I know or randomly meet on the streets. The two series I recommend to start are The Violet Eden Chapters and the Chronicles of Nick. And I agree that the best book coming out that I recommend is Snow Like Ashes.

    • I’m so glad you said that because I just bought it for $1.99 on Amazon! Can’t wait to read it now!

  • Kayla @ The Thousand Lives

Eleanor and Park is THAT good?? Well I may have to add it to my Fall reading list now 😀 And I totally agree with you about The Lunar Chronicles; one of my students asked for a series and I gave her that one – she’s an avid fan now. You’ve got me all excited for Snow Like Ashes now! I’ve wanted to read that one since I saw the cover reveal and read the synopsis, and I’m so excited to hear all these good ratings coming in!

    • Kayla, it REALLY is!! Snow Like Ashes is the type of book that reminds you why you love fantasy 🙂

  • Sugar & Snark

Ooooh mine is The Three by Sarah Lotz!
