Follow Friday: Placing Yourself in a Book

Follow My Book Blog Friday is a weekly meme intended to connect the book blogging community. To join the blogging fun or find other blogs who participated in the meme, check out Parajunkee!

No matter how old the video is, every single Friday morning I wake up and sing, “It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friiidaaayyy.” Yeah…I gotta do something about that.

Follow Friday Question: If you could write yourself a part in a book, what book would it be and what role would you play in that book?

A: I’m really loving this question! Although part of me really, really wants to say that I’ve love to be Hermione in Harry Potter, I can’t because 1. I’m not as smart as her by far and 2. Fighting Voldemort would make me poop my pants for reals. Gross but true. :)

But thinking realistically about this hypothetical situation (yeah, that didn’t make sense), the little girl in me would love to be Mia Thermopolis from The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. I would have died and gone to heaven if I found out I was a princess in high school!!

The more adult part of me would want to be Yelena from Poison Study (by Maria V. Snyder). I’ve always wanted to be able to kick butt- in a very literal way. Yelena does that plus a lot more. Even though she’s had a very rough past, Yelena is strong and beautiful and capable of taking care of herself.

Now that I’ve given you 3 answers…what part would you choose?

It would be fun to be a princess. This makes me want to watch the movie.

Old follower visiting :) Happy Friday!
I’d love to be in the Harry Potter world, but you’re right — having the threat of Voldemort around would be really scary (not to mention magic spells that can kill you in a green flash … meep)!

I’m split. The fantasy author in me wants to either be in my own books (which is lame) or Buttercup in the Princess Bride. The sensible lady in me wants to be Scout in “To Kill a Mockingbird” – because family means everything.

I’ve never read the Poison Study but it has got me interested now! And you are right, what girl wouldn’t want to find out that she is a princess! 😉

I saw another blog with Mia as the answer too. I’ve only seen the movie. But, if I were like Mia, I would love it too. It would be so much fun to have a makeover and be a real princess.
