Let’s Discuss: Books You Love With All Your Heart

Sometimes it’s love at first sight. Other times the love starts off hesitant then grows stronger over time.

Of course I’m talking about the many ways to fall in love with books (obviously).

Let’s Discuss: Books You Love With All Your Heart

When have you fallen in love with a book? You’ve told all your friends about it, and can’t stop thinking about it long after the last page has been turned?!

Ok, this makes us all sound a little crazy (or I should just speak for myself), but it’s true! I have shouted from the mountain tops how much I’ve loved a book before, and I know I’ll do it again.

Love At First Sight

You see the cover across the crowded bookstore, and you feel something. Attraction? Yes. Desire? Absolutely.

I felt this way about these beauties…

What book covers did you fall in love with right away?

Friends First Then Lovers

You weren’t sure at first. Maybe you read some negative reviews or weren’t digging the description but went for it anyway. And WOW were you surprised by how much you ended up loving it!

I was super skeptical about these books, but I quickly changed my mind after getting pulled into the story…

What books were you unsure about but totally proved themselves in the end?

Head Over Heels

Your friends are tired of hearing about this book. It’s all you’ve been talking about since you read it. I mean, everyone should read it, so who can blame you for going on and on about this new book love?!

I’ve told everyone about these insanely wonderful books…

A Court of Thorns and Roses isn’t out yet, and I’m holding my review until it’s close to publication (May 2015), but just know – IT’S SO FLIPPIN GOOD!!!!

What books have you loved with your whole heart?!?!

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
  • I haven’t read most of these (many are on my TBR though!), but Since You’ve Been Gone is definitely one I LOVED. The first one that comes to mind when I think about books I fell in love with is the Awaken trilogy by Katie Kacvinsky. I recommend those books whenever I have a chance!

    • I agree 100000000% with this!!! I haven’t read Awaken, though, and will check it out right now!

  • Kayla Strickland

Snow Like Ashes, all the books out in the Raven Cycle, Words of Radiance, the Name of the Wind, and Storm Siren. So much LOVE!

  • The Shatter me series. It was love at first sight, then I read them and it was eternal love! *-*

  • Kati Junge

I really loved the Grisha series from Leigh Bardugo and I still admire what Cassandra
Clare made out of her Shadowhunter idea – from all books of the Mortal
Instruments up to The Infernal Devices … so many great ideas! Besides, I
have to agree to the comment from Kayla Strickland – Maggie Stiefvaters Raven Cycle is just getting better and better with each book. Though my most favourite series these
days are the Lunar Chronicles, so rich, intense and unique! As from your books
stated above – I loved The Young Elites the most, one of the best new YA books
last year. I am currently reading The Darkest Part of the Forest, which has only
been published officially a few days ago and I am eagerly waiting for the Court of
Thorns and Roses to be available at bookstores as well.

  • Mawa Mahima

Aw these books are beautiful! One book I’ve fallen in love with at first sight was More Than This by Patrick Ness (it didn’t disappoint!).

  • I love the elf quote, so many of these books are on my TBR.

  • Sometimes it’s not only specific book covers that make me fall in love with a book; it also has to do with experiences from previous authors. I’m already in love with Crimson bound, because I’m a huge fangirl of Cruel beauty 😀

  • Love at first site, I’m not sure… Most books I love were recommended. My faves from this category are Twilight and TFIOS. Harry Potter is another fave, but it was the movies that led me to read the books. I can’t recall any books that took ’til the end to prove themselves. If I don’t like a book towards the beginning, chances are, I won’t enjoy it the whole way through. I’ll finish it, most times, to at least give it a chance; but it just won’t hook me like the faves do. Divergent was one example. It was good, and had an ending that almost makes me want to read the next book, but I’m not chomping at the bit to.
Another great post! Have I told you how much I love your blog? 🙂

It’s a little dark but I love the book 13 reasons why. It’s reminds us that even tho we may say or do things with out think much about it the things we say or do to other people may hurt more than ever and the people who seem so small may have the biggest heart
