Let’s Discuss: I’m The Only One Who Hasn’t Read…

There are books I’m seriously embarrassed I haven’t read. It’s like looking at yourself saying, “why have I continued not to read this???” and then continuing not reading it…

Let’s Discuss: I’m The Only One Who Hasn’t Read…

i'm the only one who hasn't read

In which we confess: I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t read….

This list is long…

  • Farenheit 451
  • 1984
  • Of Mice and men
  • The Catcher in the Rye

What book HAVE you read that you think earns you back points? Mine is Crime and Punishment – what a BEAST. That has got to earn me at least like 10 reading points? A

These are titles I have been meaning to read FOREVER. …Well, ok fine, I never plan on reading Inheritance, but that’s because Christopher Paolini tricked me.

  • The rest of the books after the first Mortal Instrument novel
  • Looking for Alaska
  • The Golden Compass
  • The last Eragon book, Inheritance
  • Lola and the Boy Next Door & Isla and the Happily Ever After

I think the real problem is there is not time enough in the world to read all the books I want. So, it’s kind of the universe’s fault.

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
  • Beth

Oh my goodness YES. I have self-enforced guilt over not reading The Fault in Our Stars and Cinder. Yet.

  • Kayla @ The Thousand Lives

I highly recommend Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 😀 But I haven’t read the other two from your classics, so we’re in the same place! And oh my god C&P deserves AT LEAST twenty reader points. That thing is a monster.

I’m on the fence about Inheritance, to be honest. I still haven’t finished book three, so we’ll see if I can even get to that.

*raises hand* I’ve only read the first three books in TMI! It ended pretty well, so I don’t want to get into the angstier stuff.

  • I can’t believe I have never read the Harry Potter series, Gone with the wind and Sense and Sensibility. Man, congrats on getting through Crime and Punishment. That one is too intimidating for me to even attempt. Maybe one day.

  • Monica

I cannot believe, Lisa, that you haven’t read The Catcher in the Rye…favorite book!! I have a hard time reading books once I’ve seen the movie so I’m guilty of that 🙂

  • Jane McGarry

I have always meant to read Fahrenheit 451 too and I am with Beth – I keep meaning to read The Fault in our Stars – but I did read Anna Karenina and it was a marathon – so I think I may earn some back points there!

  • Jenny

Harry Potter is my shame, I have always wanted to read it but another book I am dying to read always gets in the way… I am reading the Lunar Chronicles now though! went through Cinder in a night, I loved it! You should read 1984 though, was glued to that book.
