Myself + Books Set in the Mountains

Right now, I’m on vacation with my husband’s family! We’re living the life in a cabin in the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia.

As I always related everything in my life to books, I started thinking about my favorite movies that were set in forests or the mountains – or even books with awesome scenes in mountains.

Books Set in the Mountains

  • Graceling – many scenes in the book are set in the forest/mountains
  • Christy – This book was set in the extremely rural setting of the Smokey Mountains
  • The Hunger Games – District 12 and the Hunger Games are set in a forest-like atmosphere.
  • First Truth series by Dawn Cook – Alissa travels all over the countryside throughout the books and definitely “roughs it” along the way.

Have you read any great books set in the mountains?

Oh my gosh, that place is BEAUTIFUL! I’m not exactly what you’d call an “oudoorsy girl” but I sure would be if I was staying at a place like that lol! 😛 Hope you have a wonderful time!!

And also, I just finished reading Born at Midnight, which takes place at a summer camp for supernaturals, so there were a lot of woodsy scenes in it 😉

Woow! That cabin looks SO amazing. I always wish I could go on some kind of writer’s conference or retreat at a cabin like that, only they’re always at hotels. lol How much more relaxed would you be if the next one you went to was at a peaceful place like that!

  • Oh my! I would so love to have a get away like that! Beautiful!
