So I Did This Crazy Thing, And I…

…left my job.

I don’t normally share personal news on my blog. It’s for a few reasons. One, you don’t come here for that. You want BOOK news not Lisa news. Also, my life is not that interesting.

Two, although I’m very up front about who I am and what I’m all about on the blog, I do like my privacy. I don’t want to look back years later and feel like I did a huge over-share for the world to see.

But for something like this, it’s just too huge not to share.

So, I left my job. It wasn’t because I didn’t like it – I actually really, really liked it. I just realized that I wanted to ultimately work for myself and create something from scratch. And, now I am.

I started a social media consultancy called Social Climber. I will be helping businesses take their social media presence to the next level. This is something that I really enjoy doing (and did at my previous job) and want to focus all my energy on.

Will this change anything for the blog? Yes, actually. I’m going to stop blogging…

…Just kidding. :) I freaking love doing this, and I love interacting with YOU GUYS! If anything, I’ll have more time to write and read and all of the things I love best.

Now for some inappropriately appropriate Office quotes about the work place:

In the words of Oscar Martinez: “I love a good quitting story. It makes me feel like I have control over my own life. Gives me hope. Maybe I will have one of own someday. [laughs] But I dream… so…”

Congratulations and best of luck and success with the Social Climber!

I loved the photos and office quotes but my favorite was Kevin. Okay to be honest my husband has a hot dog cart at Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island and I’m prejudice but as far as I’m concerned we need more Kevin’s in the world!

That’s so cool about your husband!!! I have grown to like hot dogs…I’m not at love yet, but I’m getting there. :) Thanks for your support!

I am so excited for you! What an incredible adventure!

Also I can relate to Kevin in just about every single Office episode, but man does he nail it with that quote. That’s all I’ve ever wanted, too.
