Italy Trip Recap

I figured I’d take a break from reviews today and share my vacation pics!

I haven’t traveled too much in my life, so I really treasure the vacations that I’ve gotten to go on so far. Mostly, my husband and I take day trips around Florida, but we recently rewarded ourselves with a vacation to Italy, which happened to be around the time of our 1 year anniversary!

Tim and I had such an amazing time. Please indulge me as I share some of my vacation memories with you! :) Even though this is my book blog, so much of who I am goes into it that it just seems right to share some of my life with my readers.

If you prefer book talk I definitely understand! Tomorrow I’ll go back to legit book blogging and post my review of The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa.

We started off our trip with three days in Venice. This area turned out to be more touristy than I expected, but it was still a beautiful place. I mean, a land completely surrounded by water is pretty unique.

Here are some pics from Venice:

St. Mark's Basilica

Amazing gondola ride!

From there, we were bused over to Florence and stayed there 3 days as well. I didn’t have too many expectations for Florence, but this city really surprised me. It was full of color, charm and addicting gelato!

Stunning Arno River

Cooking class! We made crepes (pictured), bruschetta, chicken and tiramisu.

Our final destination was Rome! Again, I was really surprised by how much I fell in love with this bustling city. After I stopped panicking every time I had to cross the absolute mayhem that they call the roadway, it was easy to notice how gorgeous Rome is. There’s so much history there, and I feel like I could have spent a month in that one spot.

The Pantheon

The Colosseum (one of my all-time fav historical sites)

Last gelato of the trip!!

I need to adopt the Italian way of life. It’s filled with good food, loving family and amazing history. I loved every second of my time in Italy!!

If anyone’s curious, we took a Rick Steves tour. It was absolutely fantastic, and I can’t recommend this trip enough. I felt like I came away with some fascinating historical stories (not merely dates and times), and a great sense of what Italy is really all about.

If you have any questions about my trip- especially if you’re planning one yourself- please feel free to message me any time! :)

Fin!
