Meow Meow Takes Europe

Well…Meow is “taking” Europe in more of a figurative sense. He’ll be safe at Tim’s parent’s house while we’re gone, but I know he’ll be with us in spirit. :)

To help us get ready for our trip, Meow scoped out our suitcases for us.

He heard that there were lots of wild feral cats in Italy, so Meow was excited to get the party started!

But then he remembered he was neutered… :(

Meow seemed pretty upset that we were going to leave him for awhile, so I gave him a little snuggle.

(Can’t you tell that he loves my daily snuggles? ;) )

At the end of the day- he knows how to get back at me. He left hundreds of cat hairs on top of my luggage…

He’s a crazy (hairy) beast, and I’m missing him already!!

State of the Mewnion: The Easter Kitty

State of the Mewnion is a blog feature that showcases the crazy antics of my orange tabby cat, Meow Meow. This is where I take a (small) break from book posts and showcase a little about my life and my crazy cat.

Today has been a pretty lazy day. The Florida sunshine is out and ready to scorch the melanin-deprived like me.

After coming home from church, the hubs and I decided to eat some of our Easter candy. We felt bad that Meow can’t have chocolate or sugar, so to help cheer him up, we had a Easter photo shoot with him.

The following ensued:

The Easter Bunny better move over! The basket isn’t big enough for the two of them.

I think this basket-hat is his new favorite accessory.

Too bad he can’t have any…

This is how I roll with my Peeps.

If he can’t eat it, then he’ll wear it!!

What a crazy animal… :)

I plan on spending the rest of the day doing laundry and finishing up Coronets and Steel by Sherwood Smith. The book is a romantic fantasy that’s heavy with historical references, and I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying it!

PLUS- later this week, I will host my first ever giveaway! I’ll post all the rules and information tomorrow on the blog!

What are your favorite lazy day activities- besides cat photo shoots? ;)

Blog News Plus Vampire Cat

I’m happy to announce that my blog can now be found under the URL: readbreatherelax.com Yay! Makes more sense, right?

I originally listed my blog under lisaparkin.com because I hadn’t really committed to a name yet and thought that would be the easiest name to register with- especially because my husband is tech savvy and can help me out with these things.

So now, you can reach the blog through EITHER link- lisaparkin.com OR readbreatherelax.com Woohoo!!!

Well, I hate wasting a post with blatant self-promotion ;) , so please enjoy the following image of Meow Meow, the Vampire Cat:

If I'm a vampire, then why aren't I sparkling?

Please notice his little pal, the catnip mouse.

As always, feel free to leave your own cat caption! :) I’d love to hear what you come up with!

State of the Mew-nion: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

…or warm, cozy bed. Meow Meow’s not too picky- he’ll lay anywhere really.

This week, I saw just how creative Meow could be in finding a place to rest. He made his rounds throughout the apartment, laying anywhere that was relatively cushy and comfortable.

Exhibit A: Bed Comforter

Probably thinking about Fancy Feast and drinking from our toilet (true story).

Meow’s generally not allowed on the bed because he leaves behind a trail of litter where ever he goes, but he’s cute. And he uses that advantage to do pretty much whatever he wants.

Exhibit B: On Top of Mail

"I really should cancel my subscription to Catnip Lovers Anonymous..."

I wish I knew why, but our cat loves paper…chewing it, laying on it, playing with it- anything! What a crazy.

Exhibit C: General Carpeted Areas (where he perform his famous “hobo” pose)

"Does this make me look fat?"

I really don’t know why this is Meow’s favorite pose, but for whatever reason, he loves sitting like this! All he needs is a sign that says, “Will work for treats.”

I’d also love to hear your take on the photo captions- just list what picture you’re choosing along with your alternate caption. :)

State of the Mew-nion: The Call of the Wild (Cat)

State of the Mew-nion is a blog feature that showcases the crazy antics of my orange tabby cat, Meow-Meow. The feature title will relate in some way to books or reading so that these posts aren’t completely unrelated to the rest of the blog. :) Who doesn’t love cute animal pictures, right?

Below is Meow Meow. He’s an inherited cat. My husband’s parents gave him to us after they moved into a pet-restricted community- the limit being two dogs. They already had two dogs AND two cats, so Tim and I took Meow and Tim’s brother Matt took Autumn, a nice, calm calico.

Meow’s cute too, but he’s not calm. He’s kind of the opposite of calm and more like the Dennis the Menace of cats. You’d think a host of catnip-flavored mice, fringed tablecloths and computer cords would keep him occupied. But no…

You've interrupted my squirrel-gazing. You shall pay...

…he has to cause serious trouble by attempting to get his greedy paws on chicken that happens to be dangerously close to a knife. One second after I took this picture (completely overlooking the knife), Tim came to the rescue and snatched away the potential kitty-skewer. Phew!

No cats were harmed in the taking of this picture

Still, at the end of the day, Meow is really cute. He scatters cat litter across the apartment and climbs into cabinets that he can’t get out of, but he’s really grown on me. Who can resist this face?

If I keep opening and closing my eyes, maybe a pile of treats will appear.

If you have any suggestions for a better feature title than the one I’ve came up with, please let me know. It’s hard to get away from being cheesy when I do it so well. ;)

I love the “I Can Haz Cheeseburger?” pictures, so please feel free to comment with funny/cute cat captions for any of the pictures above!
