Top Ten Characters I’d Like To Switch Places With For 24 Hours

Some of my choices for the top ten characters who’d I’d switch places with for 24 hours are probably a bit predictable – but I really would pick them!

Some of these characters I would only want to switch places with for a very specific 24 hours though…

Top Ten Characters I’d Like to Switch Places With For 24 Hours

anna and the french kiss stephanie perkins

1Anna from Anna and the French Kiss- I’d love to be Anna when St. Clair FINALLY confesses how he feels about her. Aww, the best!

2Zoe from Glitch- I’d love to experience food and emotions all over again for the first time like Zoe. I’m sure it’s really overwhelming but amazing too.

3Celaena from Throne of Glass I’d switch with Celaena when she’s kicking butt and taking names…which is all the time in this book. But I would switch back when she has to face some seriously scary shizz. Yeah…pass on that one.

4Emma from Jane Austen’s Emma- I don’t normally meddle in people’s lives, but for a day, I would gladly match people up and butt in where I don’t belong.

5Finley Jayne from The Girl in the Steel Corset Finley gets to wear some pretty amazing corsets, and although I’m sure that gets old, I would love it! Also, I’d want her super-human strength and speed.

6Hermione Granger from The Harry Potter series- Gotta be the adorable know-it-all. She’s sassy and smart and she gets to get Harry and Ron out of serious pickles (Sandlot, anyone?!).

7Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games — Ok, I would only be Katniss when she’s not running from danger, starving in a forest or avoiding bombs…so like probably less than 24-hours worth.

8Jane from Jane Eyre— Mainly because I just read Texts from Jane Eyre and am obsessed with a BBC mini-series of the book. She’s so strong and brave!

9Aria from Under the Never Sky— Aria gets to play with some seriously cool technology…oh and she also falls in love with a rugged savage…not bad!

10Eragon from The Inheritance Series- Eragon is my only male choice. I couldn’t resist communicating with a brilliant blue dragon and riding on its scaly back. Oh the life…

What characters would you switch with for 24 hours?

Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR List

the crown of embers rae cason summer tbr list

1The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson - I’m so anxious to get my hands on this book! I loved The Girl of Fire and Thorns, and I’m beyond curious to see where Carson takes this anticipated sequel.

2Austenland by Shannon Hale - Things I love: Jane Austen, Shannon Hale, real-life Mr. Darcy’s. I’ve waited far too long to pick up this book!

3Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin — I haven’t read very much Poe, but the idea of this book really appealed to me. It’s gotten a ton of great reviews too, so that always helps.

4Gilt by Katherine Longshore - I love historical fiction…but I just don’t seem to read enough of it. I’m pumped to dig into this awesome YA, Henry VIII-set book!

5What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang - This book has so much hype, and I’m not above getting sucked. Plus, I have a few copies to spare that’ll be coming your way soon. :)

6Wake by Amanda Hocking - I haven’t read anything by Amanda Hocking, and I thought I better put a stop to that PRONTO.

7Skylark by Meagan Spooner — This was a BEA YA buzz book, and I’m really curious to get it started. Anna from AnnaReads was OMG’ing this thing, so I think it’s gotta be good!

8Velveteen by Daniel Marks — I’m in the mood for something dark, and this book seems right up my alley. It’s on NetGalley right now too, if you want to request it as well.

9Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo — I don’t know too much about this book, but based on the reviews and premise, I’m ready to be blown away.

10Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer - This book’s been out for awhile, but I haven’t gotten around to it. I think I’m finally ready to find out what happens in the final book of this crazy series!

Top Ten All Time Favorite Characters In Books

I could probably list 30 of my all-time favorite characters…so I’ll do my best to limit it to ten. You tricky memes, you.

Top Ten All Time Favorite Characters in Books

hermione granger all time favorite characters in books

1Yelena from The Study series – Yelena has mega powerful abilities and knows how to fight. She’s strong yet vulnerable, and I love that her personality is a mix of hard and soft.

2Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series – Hermione doesn’t put up with Harry and Ron’s antics, yet frequently gets them out of trouble. Plus she’s got sass and smarts to boot.

3Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables— After reading about the fiery orphan Anne, I wanted red hair so badly. I love that she lets her temper get the better of her – especially when it comes to the roguish Gilbert Blythe. :)

4Sorcha from The Daughter of the Forest— Juliet Marillier is one of the best storytellers of all time. I have read all of her books, and yet her first one with Sorcha as the main character sticks out to the me most.

5Opal from the Glass series- Opal is another one of Maria V. Snyder’s awesome heroines. I loved her growth as a character – transforming from a girl who had no self-esteem to a woman who has confidence to spare.

6Sydney Carton from A Tale of Two Cities— Dickens’ classic is so heart-wrenching, and Syndey makes the ultimate sacrifice for redemption. You can’t get more epic than that.

7Peeta from The Hunger Games— Peeta has so much strength. He sticks by Katniss even when she’s being crazy (i.e. most of the books). Also, he can bake things = always a win.

8Professor Dumbledore from the Harry Potter series— Dumbledore is basically the best. He’s old but acts young. He’s mysterious and is basically the strongest wizard of all time. I wish he were real.

9Georgia Nicholson from Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging— I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard out loud reading books. I love Georgia’s quirkiness and crazy antics. I wish she could be a BFF in real life.

10Cassel Sharpe from the Curse Worker series – Cassel is a con artist and with that comes tons of sarcasm and lots of sharp thinking and fast hands. I loved his character for making tough decisions – and not always the right ones.

Top Ten Young Adult Dystopian Books

There are so many dystopians out right now in YA…and I love them. Below is a list of my top faves.

Top Ten Ten Young Adult Dystopian Books

inside out maria v snyder young adult dystopian books

1Wither & Fever by Lauren DeStefano – I just finished Fever! I love these books – DeStefano has such a beautiful way of telling her stories. Amazing.

2Delirium by Lauren Oliver – You know it’s a dystopia when people think love is wrong. Bunch of crazies.

3Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder— I don’t think these books got as much hype as they should have. They’re very futuristic and the characters’ living environment reminds of me Wall-E.

4Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi— This book had mad intensity. I loved the stream of consciousness writing style too – it was really refreshing.

5Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi- I’m basically obsessed with this book: slow romance, awesome action and amazing abilities, fantasy-wise. Winner all around

6Divergent by Veronica Roth— This book makes every list. #duh

7Incarceron by Catherine Fisher— I read this dystopia a long time ago (I probably didn’t realize it was a dystopia at the time). It’s super interesting, though, and would also be ok for younger readers.

8Matched by Ally Condie— I really liked this first book a lot. I was torn between Ky and Xander and waiting to see what the Society would do next.

9Insurgent by Veronia Roth— This is cheating, but I don’t care. I know this book is gonna rock!! Only a few more months left too!

10Hey! I thought I’d read a TON of dystopias! Guess not…This is still a pretty awesome genre – with tons more coming out this year.

What are your favorite young adult dystopias?

Top Ten Books I Think Would Make Great Book Club Picks

I want to be in a book club!! Come on Florida, peeps, let’s do this post and then read all these books…ok?? :)

Top Ten Books I Think Would Make Great Book Club Picks

the hobbit by jrr tolkien

1 Incarceron by Catherine Fischer -My best friend is reading this book right now, and I think there’s a lot to talk about. I mean, just the plot alone confuses people and invites discussion

2Legacy Cayla Kluver— The fact that Kluver wrote this book when she was 16 is a huge topic of discussion, especially her writing style and growth (which we well hopefully see in Allegiance).

3Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling— The last book in this epic 7-part series has SO MUCH going on that I think hardcore Potter-heads will go nuts discussing all they symbolism and hidden meaning.

4The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin— Again, this is another book that had people rolling their eyes but loving it all at the same time. The ending especially would make it a great book club pick.

5Incarnate by Jodi Meadows- The whole idea of reincarnation will really get people chatting about this book. The ideas so unique and interesting. I mean, I leant this book out just so I could have someone to talk to about it!!

6A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine l’Engle— This book is a classic and I think there’s probably a lot I’d get out of this book reading it again.

7The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien— With the movie coming out and everything, I think it would be awesome to re-read this masterpeice, book club style.

8The Chronicles of Naria by C.S. Lewis— Agh, so…I haven’t actually read these books! Ooops! So, I would not be the leader of this book club, but I would totally be in it!! :)

9Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit— I adored this book growing up (and the movie isn’t bad either). I think there are so many topics that could be discussed from this classic.

10Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen— Talk about a classic! This lesser-read Austen novel is awesome and charming and I want to gush about it with other lady-friends!!

What are your book club picks??
