The Frugal Fantasy Reader

The Frugal Fantasy Reader is a Read.Breathe.Relax. original feature that lists the latests Kindle book deals. Who says you can’t read good books on a budget?

Before we jump into the awesome Kindle deals, there’s a couple things I wanted to throw out there. First, self-published books scare me a little. It’s so bizarre to read a book with that potentially has spelling and grammar errors and try to consider it as “legit.” The thing is- authors have other options than being published the traditional way. I really can’t fault them for that! Plus, I know there are some really great Indie authors out there

Second, I don’t always want to pay a lot for books. I am more the willing to dish out my hard-earned money on books that I know I’ll reread a million times over, but there are some books I’ve wanted to return by the time I’ve started the 2nd chapter.

This feature is basically about showcasing books I think will hold up to my reading standards AND be easy on the wallet. That’s not to say only self-published books will be featured (ex: Firelight Kindle Deal), but I’m sure a handful will be mentioned every post.

Thanks for another great feature Lisa! I’m a bit wary of self published myself as I have read some that have not been very good and/or needed a good editor but I also think about books amazing books like Tiger’s Curse that were self published at first. It’s definately easier to invest .99 cents and not be too bothered if the book isn’t good. I glad to see that the covers of self published novels are getting much better. Love these covers!

Ohh, I didn’t know that Tiger’s Curse was originally self-published! I know Legacy by Cayla Kluver was, too! The covers really are great, I def agree!

Thanks, Lisa, for taking the time to consider self-published (or “indie”, as we like to say) authors. Many of us take a good deal of time, trouble, and expense to avoid grammar errors etc.–I hope you’ll run across some good reads in the indie community. And I agree with Bookish–these covers are dazzling.

I know many of the indie authors are working very hard- thanks for bringing up that perspective! I hope I come across some great reads too. Thanks for stopping by!

I love this feature and have had some great success with self published authors! (and when I’m spending $0.99 I don’t mind the risk). Thanks so much for giving the links as well!

Thanks, Bonnie! I’ll have to check out your self-published gems! :)

This is a great idea! And some of these books sound like some great reads. And for being selfpublished the covers are amazing looking! :) Thanks for sharing!
