For this Top Ten Tuesday post, I decided to pick books that I would not normally buy for myself. There are a million and one YA books I’d love to receive as gifts, but let’s be real…I’ll end up buying them for myself anyway. I guess I took this post quite literally, but too late now…
Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Bringing Me
1S by J.J. Abrams– Ok, so technically Santa brought me this gift early. I’m SO THANKFUL. This book will take me forever to read, but it’s just too flipping cool.
2Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan– Jim Gaffigan is by far my favorite comedian. He makes things like bacon and McDonald’s hilarious. Now he’s written a book. It’s bound to be a funny as he is.
3Tequila Mockingbrid: Cocktails with a Literary Twist– This would be PERFECT for parties with friends or any book club event. I just love the whole idea – I mean, that’s why I have my (neglected) Pages and Pairings feature.
4Humans of New York by Brandon Stanton– I actually received this as a secret santa gift. I’ve been following the Facebook page and blog for awhile and love the poignant photos and quotes. It’s just beautiful.
5Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell– Sometimes my brain has strange aversions to things. This book makes the list (I don’t know!!!) So, I’d probably need someone else to get this for me so I will finally read it. I know it’s probably amazing…stupid brain.
6ARC of Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo– I think it’s only by the magic of Santa that such a crazy request would ever come true. Cuz I need to read this book like yesterday. HOW WILL IT END?!?!
7I Peed On This And Other Poems By Cats– I think this says it all about my life. I need a laugh….#DogPersonWhoOwnsCats
8Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened– Love this blog and love the depth and truth that go behind the comics.
9Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling– With the potential movie being made, I figured I should jump on this train now before it’s too late.
10The Wes Anderson Collection – With photos and artwork from this crazy director, this book seems like a perfect coffee table book for Wes Anderson fans. I love his work and CANNOT WAIT for The Grand Budapest Hotel.
What books are you hoping to receive on Christmas?
