Top Ten Ten Books I’d Give a Theme Song To

anne of green gables top ten books i'd pick a theme song to

1 Incarnate by Jodi Meadows – I’m gonna borrow I song I used in my Wrinkle in Time post playlist: New Soul by Yael Niam. It’s accurate and meaningful just like the book!

2The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins— I hope you guys saw this coming… 🙂 “Safe & Sound” by Taylor Swift….ok, ok, this is CHEATING, but there’s already a soundtrack! I can’t wait to hear all of it though.

3The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien— I won’t cheat on this one, despite there already being a soundtrack too. I pick “Love is a Battlefield” by Pat Benatar. Just imagine the epic battle scenes with that song playing in the background. Haha!

4Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montegomery— I couldn’t find an (appropriate) song with the phrase “bosom friends” in it so, “With a Little Help From my Friends” by the Beatles will have to do. Minus the drug innuendos – OH WAIT, Anne does drug Diana with cherry cordial! Motion overruled.

5Twilight by Stephanie Meyer- I know these movies also have songs, but I always think of the 80s song “Dead Man’s Party” when I think of the books. You’re welcome in advance for the spandex and 80s dance movies.

6Delirium by Lauren Oliver— Even though the meaning is off, I would pair the raw emotion of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” with this emotionally gripping book. Ah!

7Firelight & Vanish by Sophie Jordan— Definitely LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” for this book. This ridiculous love triangle matches the craziness of the song. “No shoes, no shirt but I still get service…”

8Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen— “At Last” by Etta James. A classic for a classic, plus both are deeply romantic and moody.

9Entwined by Heather Dixon— “Melt with You” by Modern English. Love this song! It’s super romantic and dreamy, just like this fairy-retelling.

10Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bonte— Another romantic wonder. I pick “Wonderwall” by Oasis because Mr. Rochester really needs saving! Especially if it’s Michael Fassenbender!

What are some book and song matches you’d make?
