Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR List

the crown of embers rae cason summer tbr list

1The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson - I’m so anxious to get my hands on this book! I loved The Girl of Fire and Thorns, and I’m beyond curious to see where Carson takes this anticipated sequel.

2Austenland by Shannon Hale - Things I love: Jane Austen, Shannon Hale, real-life Mr. Darcy’s. I’ve waited far too long to pick up this book!

3Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin — I haven’t read very much Poe, but the idea of this book really appealed to me. It’s gotten a ton of great reviews too, so that always helps.

4Gilt by Katherine Longshore - I love historical fiction…but I just don’t seem to read enough of it. I’m pumped to dig into this awesome YA, Henry VIII-set book!

5What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang - This book has so much hype, and I’m not above getting sucked. Plus, I have a few copies to spare that’ll be coming your way soon. :)

6Wake by Amanda Hocking - I haven’t read anything by Amanda Hocking, and I thought I better put a stop to that PRONTO.

7Skylark by Meagan Spooner — This was a BEA YA buzz book, and I’m really curious to get it started. Anna from AnnaReads was OMG’ing this thing, so I think it’s gotta be good!

8Velveteen by Daniel Marks — I’m in the mood for something dark, and this book seems right up my alley. It’s on NetGalley right now too, if you want to request it as well.

9Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo — I don’t know too much about this book, but based on the reviews and premise, I’m ready to be blown away.

10Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer - This book’s been out for awhile, but I haven’t gotten around to it. I think I’m finally ready to find out what happens in the final book of this crazy series!

What’s on your summer TBR list?

Great list! I thought Shadow and Bone was great. Velveteen and Skylark are in my TBR list, as is Girl of Fire and Thorns.

I’m so excited to read Shadow and Bone in particular! What rating would you give it?

      • http://twitter.com/leaflette leeanna c

I gave it a 5/5. I two reviews for it, one for Amazon Vine and one on my blog, where I listed a few of the things that bugged me. They didn’t detract at all from my enjoyment of it, though, because I have a feeling I might have missed some of those things while I sped through the story.

Interesting list. I’ve got a few books on writing and reading, Tolstoy and the Purple Chair is one, and quite a few Victorian classics. Have to read Dickens this year. It is his birthday. :)

Happy birthday to Dickens! My fave from him will always be The Tale of Two Cities!
