It’s been a crazy week already! I will update you with Boston Book Festival news (or lack thereof) shortly!

Now, on to the Top Ten Tuesday post:

Top Ten Books Whose Titles Or Covers Made Me Buy It

paranormalcy

1Starcrossed— This cover is gorgeous! Although…every once and awhile I would like to see someone’s face on a YA cover.

2The Girl in the Steel Corset—I loved the cover immediately (I want that dress!). Plus, the title is different and unique and had me at “steel.” :)

3Paranormalcy—For me, this book was a double hitter- awesome cover plus clever title. The girl on the cover looks different than how I thought the main character was described, but I won’t argue.

4Wither— I love this cover- it’s moody, and I love the colors. The combination of feminine and masculine images are interesting too.

5The Goddess Test— A girl’s face! Who knew?! I love the jungle sort of feel you get from the cover. There aren’t any jungles in the book…but still. :)

6Steel— I thought this cover was so cool- edgy but classy. Too bad the book was a let down in comparison. No zing.

7Archangel— This cover was mainly sort of weird and almost disturbing, but that’s what made me pick it up!

8Troubled Waters— The girl on the cover looks like she’s going to kick someone’s butt (which is accurate to the book). I thought it was interesting right away.

9Coronets and Steel— Even though the cover looked a bit cheesy to me at first, I liked the combination of fantasy and realistic elements. Plus the title intrigued me.

10Magic Bites— Although I love the genre, a lot of urban fantasy book covers look the same. This cover caught my eye right away as being different than the rest.

What book covers or titles made you buy the book?

I agree! I fell in love immediately!

I loved many of the covers of the books you’ve listed. Alas, they didn’t make my list, though, because they were actually recommended to me before I saw the cover.

Oops…that’s true for me for a couple too! Oh well… :)

The Goddess Test cover drew me in on that one for sure. So did A Beautiful Dark, Starcrossed (though I didn’t like this book), The Iron Fey series, Austenland, Matched, Firelight, Overprotected, Divergent, and the Study series. I’m the first to admit that I totally judge a book by it’s cover! 😀

Ah, I’m still sad you didn’t like Starcrossed but I def see where you’re coming from! It was an all or nothing type of read. The Study series are all great too! Although…the covers keep getting redone.

Which ones do you mean? Confusing, I know. :)

those are some awesome series! I would have to say that my favorite cover (and least favorite book) was the girl in the steel corset one. I want that dress too!!

To an earlier comment you said about quitting our jobs and just reading, I agree!! I actually really wish that I had a ridiculously rich and lonely distant relation who decided that out of all their family I was the most deserving of a break and had the kindest heart (and so would share at least some of the cash flow) and then I would have to work only if I wanted to (because when I read for too long, like a whole day, my neck starts to hurt…that’s my body telling me not to be too much a couch potato *sigh*). yay for rich distant relations!!

Oh this is a great post! I have to say there are many covers and titles that made me buy the book. And this is an amazing list. There are a few on here that have been on the top of the list just because of the title or the cover, but I’ve not got to purchasing yet. Shame on me! lol. Thank you!
