Top Ten Fall 2012 Books I’m Dying to Read

the diviners libba bray fall 2012 books

1The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson– (September 18) Yesssss! September is going to be a busy reading month for sure!

2Hidden by Sophie Jordan– (September 11). This series is silly and crazy, but dang – Jordan can write a page-turner. I’m ready to read the LAST book in this series.

3The Diviners by Libba Bray– (September 18) Libba Bray can do no wrong. So excited to read this new series set in the 1920s.

4The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin– (October 23) Another fantastic sequel coming atcha. I loved The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, so I KNOW this book is going to be epic.

5The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling– (September 26) I have zero expectations. I’m just going in curious to see what J.K came up with.

6The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater– (September 18) Another fantastic author coming out with something new. I’ve read some positive reviews about this one, and my ARC is screaming to be opened.

7Venom by Fiona Paul— (October 30) I love these historical fantasies. I hope they keep coming! Plus, I love the cover.

8Fallen Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes— (December 11) Fantasy is strong this fall – I think the multiple perspectives and premise seem very promising.

9Ironskin by Tina Connelly— (October 2) Again, another hot fantasy book. I’m excited to try out new authors!

10Crewel by Ginnifer Albin– (October 30) This book had huge buzz at BEA, and I’m ready to try my luck. She’s a debut author, so I’m hoping to be wow’ed/

What book are you the MOST excited to read this fall?

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
  • I’ve been avoiding any and all things about the Casual Vacancy (I don’t even know what the basic premise is!) because I don’t want to have any preconcieved notions about it. I just want to be able to enjoy it when I finally get my hands on a copy (which will probably, judging by my “to read” pile be in about 3 years…)

  • I’m looking forward to a ton of the same books. Casual Vacancy I probably won’t read, but I’ll definitely read reviews because I’m curious about it.

Just pre-ordered my copy of The Crown of Embers yesterday! I hadn’t planned on it because I was trying to just limit myself to two orders but I couldn’t resist…and it gives me an excuse to reread the first! So I guess we’ll both be devouring that one. I’m hoping that The Evolution of Mara Dyer and Falling Kingdoms both find their way into my hands at some point though because they too sound awesome. Great list! :]

Great picks! I want to read everything on your list (well, on the fence about The Casual Vacancy). Ahh! So excited about reading so many goodies this fall!

    • I’m surprised how many people are so on the fence about The Casual Vacancy. But I think we’re all just nervous for J.K. :/

  • Fiona Paul

Wow. To see VENOM on a list with my literary idols Rowling and Bray is all kinds of awesome…and scary…but mostly awesome. Thanks for your interest and happy reading 🙂 -FP
PS Falling Kingdoms was phenomenal. The rest I’m still waiting for.

  • Katie Cardell

Great list! Personally, I can’t wait for The Evolution of Mara Dyer. I had an ARC of The Diviners from BEA and it’s INCREDIBLE. I wrote a review for it at After the Last Page (http://wp.me/p1BViJ-IW) and I’m recommending it to anyone who will listen. You’re absolutely right… Libba Bray can do no wrong! 🙂
