Top Ten Upcoming Books I'm Excited To Read in 2012

Sometimes with Top Ten Tuesday posts, I struggle to come up with ideas but with a topic like the upcoming books of 2012 that I’m totally stoked about it’s going to be a struggle to keep this list at 10.

Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Ten Upcoming Books I’m Excited to Read in 2012

best upcoming books 2012

1 Insurgent by Veronica Roth— Easily my VERY MOST anticipated book of 2012. I. can’t. WAIT!!!!

2The Gathering Storm by Robin Bridges— I’m so stoked to raed a paranormal book set in 1800s-era Russia. It sounds so magical and romantic and charming.

3Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore— I have been waiting a very long time for Bitterblue, and I’m so excited to see some awesome characters back in action.

4Black Heart by Holly Black— I absolutely fell in love with White Cat and Red Glove, so I know the FINAL installment of the Curse Worker series is going to rock!

5Fever by Lauren DeStefano- Wither really took me by surprise. It was soft and subtle and incredibly well done. I dying to find out what happens to Rhine and the other wives.

6The Shape of Desire by Sharon Shinn— I absolutely adore Shinn’s Thirteenth House series and am anxiously waiting for another of her books to hit the shelves.

7The Girl in the Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross— This book is part of a whole host of upcoming books that are sequels. I will probably need to do a bunch of re-reading this year…

8Dreamless by Josephine Angelini— I’m really hoping this book is just as good as Starcrossed, which totally took my by surprise. More good books, plz!

9The Selection by Kiera Cass— This book sorta sounds like a different version of the movie One Night with the King. It sounds fun and exciting and will be a nice break from the thousands of dystopians I’ll be reading this year.

10The Nightmare Garden by Caitlin Kittredge— Nother sequel, nother day. The Iron Thorn was the frist steampunk book I EVER read, and The Nightmare Garden has tons gaps that the first book left.

What upcoming books are you excited to read in 2012??

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
  • I just read White Cat and I am almost done reading Red Glove. I can’t wait for Black Heart. This is a good series.

The Gathering Storm was AWESOME. I think you’ll love it!

  • OH Insurgent!! And Fever!! So many great books!! 🙂 Can’t wait! 🙂

  • Fantastic list! Insurgent is coming out so much sooner than I expected, yay!

The gathering storm does indeed look good, but i’ve heard mixed things. Only reading will be able to say for sure!

I too am excited for the shape of desire. Such an engaging cover! I’ve read a few of her books, but not the thirteenth house. I’ll have to give that a try now though!

I avoided adding ‘the selection’ to my TBR solely cause…I don’t know. I hadn’t even read the synopsis but I saw it everywhere. Then I actually looked into and now can’t wait.

    yay for reading!

Happy New Year Lisa! I’m with you on almost all of these, however, I just finished The Gathering Storm and was dissapointed. I was expecting a lot more than I got. I’m curious to see what you think of it.

  • Really hoping Bitterblue is awesome! I can’t wait to read it.

  • Great list! I, too, cannot wait for Insurgent and Fever. I’m not familiar with The Gathering Storm but it sounds very interesting – adding it to my list.

  • I really need to read that Holly Black series. I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t love it. 🙂 Maybe I’ll just wait until they’re all out so I won’t have to wait between books.
I’m interested to see what happens in Insurgent, too.
