Why I’m Stoked: As some of you may know, I’m a total wimp when it comes to anything scary. But, the tides may be turning. I’m in the middle of reading The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, and although I’m creeped out, the book is just fantastic. Scary can be done in a good way, I guess! I’m totally ready to scare the crap out of myself again!

What books are you waiting for?

About Lisa Parkin

I'm a hardcore lover of young adult fiction and have been reviewing books since 2011. Other interests include Downton Abbey, heat lightning storms, Harry Potter land and (begrudingly) one orange tabby.
  • Ooh, Hollow looks awesome. And I’m not sure about the scary part either, because, dude, the cover doesn’t bring scary across at all. Great pick!

  • I am also a total wimp when it comes to anything creepy or thriller-like. I used to love horror but just can’t take it any more. You are right though, scary can be done in a good won’t-keep-you-up-all-night kind of way!

  • ooh, I hadn’t heard of this one before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I wish I could curl my hair like that. Where I am it’s so humid that curls rarely stay…without a pound of hairspray of course…and then they aren’t fun and playful…but I digress.

Hmm, another dystopian read. And it sounds good! 😀

Sorry I haven’t been by much. Have been preping for Nanowrimo and now in the thick of doing it. 🙂 I will be back full force in December though. 🙂
